Safety

Warakirri Agricultural Trusts believe that the health and safety of our people is fundamental to our business. We believe that a culture of safety and sound safety practices are in the best interests of our people, our business, our investors, our partners and the communities in which we operate.

Our company vision highlights the importance of health and safety at Warakirri farms and offices. Our health and safety manual complies with State and Federal legislation and is an important tool in the process of developing and maintaining a safe environment.

In 2009 the Warakirri Agricultural Trusts were awarded the FarmSafe Australia Farmer of the Year in recognition of our safety performance and contribution to farm safety in general. Our people recently achieved 150,000 hours lost time incident free and we now strive for 200,000 hours. Our commitment to farm safety is also evident in the publication supported by RIRDC titled, 'OH&S, A quick reference guide for broadacre agriculture' compiled and released in July 2007 by ORM and Warakirri Agricultural Trusts.

All our properties undergo an annual inspection carried out by peers and an active hazard reduction process and incident reporting is implemented in conjunction with farm and Melbourne office staff.

We consider ourselves to have an excellent safety culture with an impressive safety record with no serious injuries to date.
