Training

Ongoing training of all our personnel is an important principle promoted within the group.

Full time operational staff, are encouraged to devote up to 10 days annually to attend field days, training days, short courses and personal development days where there is a clear link between the skills and knowledge to be gained and the immediate requirements and responsibilities of the job.

We also conduct internal training at local training days, our own annual Conference, Managers Meeting and State Training days.

In addition to the above, a "Bonus 2% Group Pool" is also offered to full time operational staff. This further outlines provisions to support personal development.

Scholarships

Warakirri Agricultural Trusts has established financial support through Scholarships with Marcus Oldham College - Geelong and Longerenong College - Horsham, Victoria. As part of the scholarships, the successful candidates will develop experience through industry placement with postings on some of the Warakirri properties.

The successful candidates are exposed and will contribute to: summer/winter crop planting, maintenance, harvest, induction, competencies, procedure brief, plant and equipment operation, GPS, crop planning and budgeting procedure, analysis of machinery utilisation and the planning process.

Warakirri continue to investigate further opportunities to partner with institutions providing agricultural skills and education. Students from a variety of colleges and universities undertake work experience with Warakirri. Warakirri believes supporting the next generation of agricultural professionals is critical to the future of the industry.
